RUCKUS SZ300 end of life: end of support dates
By Nico De Muynck · Updated August 24, 2026
Supported until December 31, 2029.
The RUCKUS SZ300 reaches its End of Support on December 31, 2029. That is the hard stop: after it there are no firmware or security updates, no support and no hardware replacement.
SZ300 lifecycle milestones
The date below is read live from our curated reference table, sourced from RUCKUS End of Sale / End of Life Product Datelines (Jul 2022).

| SZ300 | 2029-12-31 |
What the date means
RUCKUS runs a two-stage lifecycle. End of Sale starts the clock, and End of Support follows a fixed interval later, five years for most infrastructure. What makes RUCKUS unusual, and useful, is that the End of Life notices name the successor product explicitly, so the migration path is stated by the vendor rather than inferred from a datasheet comparison.
A controller past End of Support is a single point of failure for everything it manages. It holds credentials and configuration for the whole wireless estate, it is usually reachable from the management network, and when it stops receiving firmware the devices beneath it are effectively frozen too, because new AP models will not be supported by an unsupported controller version.
For the full vendor policy see the RUCKUS EOL guide, and if the terminology is the confusing part, EOL vs EOS vs EOSL separates the three milestones that get used interchangeably.
What replaces the SZ300?
RUCKUS names the v/SZ-H as the successor to the SZ300. That is the vendor's own stated migration path rather than an equivalence inferred from a datasheet, which matters when you have to justify the choice to somebody holding the budget.
Check the successor's own remaining runway before ordering. Replacing a controller that is out of support with one that has two years left is a purchase you will repeat sooner than you want to.
SZ controllers still in support
Sorted by how much supported life is left, shortest first. Anything already past its date is left out, because it is not a replacement for anything.
Common questions
- When does the RUCKUS SZ300 reach end of support?
- The RUCKUS SZ300 reaches End of Support on December 31, 2029, which is 1223 days from today. Until then it remains eligible for firmware, security updates and support.
- What replaces the SZ300 controller?
- RUCKUS names the v/SZ-H as the successor to the SZ300.
- Does a controller stop working at end of support?
- No. The controller keeps passing traffic. What stops is firmware fixes, vendor support and hardware replacement under contract, so any vulnerability disclosed after that date is never patched on that unit.
