The problem with checking manually

A spreadsheet cannot interrupt you

Every team that gets caught by an end-of-support date had the date written down somewhere. The date was never the problem. Nothing was watching it.

Manual tracking fails in three predictable ways. The reminder gets set once and never updated when the vendor moves the date. The person who owned the spreadsheet leaves. Or the calendar entry fires two weeks out, which is long enough to panic and not long enough to procure.

Register your devices

Add them by hand, paste a CSV, or drop in a NetBox export. End-of-support dates fill in automatically where we have them, so most fleets start alerting without you typing a single date.

Choose your warning window

Default is 180 days. Anything from 7 days to 2 years works. Pick the number that puts the alert in front of you before your budget is locked, not after.

A daily job checks every device against its date and notifies you the moment one crosses into the window, then again if it passes end of support. No dashboard visit required.

Email, Slack and Microsoft Teams

Email is on by default. Paste a Slack or Teams incoming webhook URL and the same alerts post to that channel, so the warning reaches whoever is on shift rather than one person's inbox.

One setting controls how far ahead every warning fires. Change it any time and the next run uses the new window.

Alerts you will not mute

Each device notifies once entering the window and once at expiry. Never the same alert twice.

Snooze what you already know about

Some devices you are already aware of and cannot replace yet. Snooze one until a date you pick and it drops out of the alerts until then, so it stops competing for attention with the device you have not seen yet. This is the difference between an alerting system people keep and one they filter to a folder.

An alert is only as good as the date behind it

Alerting is easy. Knowing when a RUCKUS ICX7150-24-POE actually stops being supported is the hard part, and it is where most asset tools hand the problem back to you. We maintain a curated end-of-support reference built from vendor lifecycle documents, with End of Support as the date that matters, not End of Sale.

Part numbers are resolved tolerantly, so a bundle SKU still matches its family, and a model we have no published date for returns No date rather than a guess. A wrong date is worse than no date, because you will trust it.

Alerting is not the paid tier

The free plan tracks 5 assets with the full alerting feature set: configurable window, email, Slack and Teams, snooze, the lot. Paying €20/month or €200/year lifts the asset limit, it does not unlock the alerts.

Questions about EOL alerting

How far in advance do EOL alerts fire?+

You choose. The default is 180 days before the end-of-support date, adjustable from 7 days to 2 years. Teams on annual budget cycles usually widen it so the warning arrives before the planning window closes rather than after.

Where do the alerts arrive?+

Email, plus an optional Slack or Microsoft Teams channel. Both platforms accept the same incoming webhook format, so you paste one URL into settings and alerts start posting.

Will I get the same alert every day until I act?+

No. Each device alerts once when it enters the warning window, and once when it passes end of support. A ledger records what has already been sent, so a device you cannot replace this quarter does not become daily noise. You can also snooze a device until a date you choose.

Do I need to know the end-of-support date first?+

Usually not. Dates fill in automatically on import from a curated reference covering Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Meraki, RUCKUS, SonicWall, MikroTik, VMware and Microsoft, with endoflife.date as a fallback. Anything we have no published date for imports as “No date” instead of a guess.

Does this install an agent or scan my network?+

Neither. EOL Tracking is agentless. You register devices manually or import a CSV or NetBox export. Nothing is deployed inside your environment, which keeps security review short.

Can I get alerts for multiple clients separately?+
